Wonder Studios, Foundation Distribution Strike First-of-its-Kind Deal to Stream AI-Native Films Globally

Wonder Studios, an entertainment company focused on building new pathways for filmmakers in the AI era, announced on October 20, 2026 a distribution agreement with Foundation Distribution, a connected-TV distribution agent. The first-of-its-kind deal is set to bring AI-native content from online indie filmmakers to global TV streaming services via platforms including Roku, Samsung TV and Amazon.

The first title under the deal is Season 2 of Wonder's flagship anthology series Beyond the Loop, which has drawn 14.8 million combined views across platforms. After premiering on YouTube and Wonder TV, the season will now move to TV streaming services. The season features filmmakers including Grammy-nominated artist Jidenna, AI short-film creator Kavan the Kid, and BAFTA-winning editor Hal Watmough. Its executive producers include CapCut, ElevenLabs, OpenArt and invideo.

Unlike the high-volume themed channels common on free streaming services, the agreement positions each film and project as an individual title, allowing audiences to discover emerging filmmakers the same way they browse for traditional films or series. Wonder CEO Xavier Collins said the deal marks a watershed moment, giving emerging talent a pathway to reach millions of homes. Sarah Craig, President of Foundation Distribution, said AI tools, used thoughtfully, can complement traditional storytelling and open up creative possibilities for indie filmmakers.

Beyond Season 2, Wonder plans to bring more work from filmmakers who have built substantial online followings, focusing on longer-form films and series, and to commission new originals. AI remains an important creative tool for many of the filmmakers Wonder works with, while the studio's slate increasingly spans live-action and hybrid production. Wonder has raised more than $15 million from investors including Atomico, LocalGlobe, Blackbird and Adobe Ventures.
