Anthropic Files S-1 for Nasdaq Listing, Discloses $16.3B H1 Revenue and Compute Deals
Anthropic has filed an S-1 registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), moving closer to a Nasdaq listing. The AI company confidentially submitted its IPO application in June and has now disclosed additional details in the public filing.
According to the document, Anthropic generated $16.3 billion in revenue in the first half of the year, with a net loss of $80.7 billion. Most of the loss stems from accounting charges related to the company's financing notes, rather than operational cash burn.
The filing also outlines multi-billion-dollar agreements Anthropic has signed to secure AI compute capacity. Once all planned compute is delivered, Anthropic will pay SpaceX approximately $3.1 billion per month for access to Nvidia GPUs, with total spending potentially reaching $120.5 billion by 2029.
Anthropic said in the filing that AI could accelerate scientific innovation, boost economic growth, and help solve problems that have eluded previous generations, if properly managed. The company also warned that AI-related incidents could have severe consequences, potentially beyond what the insurance industry can cover.
