Samsung Electronics, Samsung C&T, Samsung SDS, Samsung SDI, Samsung Life Insurance and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance announced a combined $1 billion investment in Helix, an AI infrastructure company founded by KKR, with Samsung Electronics contributing $500 million and the other five affiliates contributing the remaining $500 million. Helix focuses on hyperscale data center development and operation, power generation, transmission and distribution infrastructure, and fiber-optic networks.
Humanoid robot company Figure released Helix 2.5, allowing robots to autonomously do housework. The model was pretrained on the global human-behavior dataset Index and achieved zero-shot generalization across 30 households in the San Francisco Bay Area, raising task success from 8% to 56% and generalizing to 30 new environments with only half the task-specific data.
