Tavus, an AI research team, released Griffin, a real-time video interaction model, along with a research preview named Griffin-Lite. In an experiment, 26 of 54 participants who had a one-minute video call with Griffin-Lite believed they were talking to a real person (about 48%), versus 2.4% for the previous system. Tavus claims Griffin is the first model to pass a real-time video Turing test and classifies it as a new category, Human Interaction Model (HIM).
