WTO Report: AI to Boost Global GDP by 13.2% by 2040

In a report released on September 15, 2026, the World Trade Organization (WTO) forecasts that artificial intelligence could increase global GDP by 13.2% by 2040.

The report also projects that AI could boost global trade by 40% by 2040, with digitally deliverable services seeing the largest gains. The WTO is the main international body responsible for setting global trade rules.
