Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan: China's Frontier AI Models Have Low Token Costs and Rapid Adoption

By AI123

Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan said on Oct. 12 at a panel discussion organized by DBS Bank that China's frontier AI models have relatively low token costs and have been seeing rapid adoption. He said the performance of Chinese AI models such as DeepSeek, Kimi and GLM is already good enough.

Tan said he strongly supports open source, calling it the optimal path to improve efficiency. He also believes the market will decide the application scenarios for different models. In addition, Tan said quantum computing could go mainstream within three to five years, and that software will play a role in improving the efficiency of some infrastructure essential for the development of related technologies.
