NVIDIA DLSS 5 Comes to Hogwarts Legacy on November 5 with Enhanced Scene Lighting
NVIDIA has announced that DLSS 5 will come to Hogwarts Legacy on November 5. New comparison images show that the latest version brings only subtle changes to character appearance, while improvements in scene lighting and material details are far more noticeable.
DLSS 5 is NVIDIA's deep learning super sampling solution featuring 3D-guided neural rendering, which uses AI to generate realistic lighting and materials for game scenes. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has described it as a "GPT moment for graphics." The company said the new model rolling out on October 16 doubles the performance of the 3D-guided neural rendering model, reduces model size by 24% to about 118 million parameters, cuts 4K VRAM usage by 20%, halves the neural rendering GPU overhead compared with the September 2026 version, and runs 10 times faster than when it was first unveiled in March 2026. The update supports RTX 50-series GPUs and RTX Spark laptops.
DLSS 5 is also expected to arrive in the Chinese game Where Winds Meet in late November. NVIDIA separately announced that DLSS 5 is being added to RTX Remix, giving mod makers more tools to remaster classic games.
