Chery Unveils Manned eVTOL Aircraft Lingxiao Q212 and J506 at Global Innovation Conference

By AI123

At its Global Innovation Conference held on October 20, 2026, Chery officially unveiled two manned eVTOL aircraft: the two-seat compound-wing Lingxiao Q212 and the five-seat Lingxiao J506.

The Lingxiao Q212 is designed as a two-seat compound-wing eVTOL with a cruise speed of 120 km/h and a flight endurance exceeding 60 minutes at full load. For the five-seat Lingxiao J506, Chery disclosed a more ambitious technical target: a maximum flight speed of 350 km/h and a range of more than 1,000 kilometers.

The eVTOL announcement is part of Chery's broader push to transform itself from an automaker into an AI-driven global intelligent technology company. At the same event, Chery also released CheryMind, a vertical foundation model for physical AI, and outlined plans for the Ziwei C100 chip designed for edge deployment of physical AI. Chery said that although vehicle forms are evolving from intelligent cars to Robotaxis and eVTOLs, these products share common underlying capabilities in environment perception, spatial understanding, path planning, and motion control.
