Chery Unveils CHERY AWE World Engine With 700,000 Scenarios for Autonomous Driving
Chery unveiled its full-dimensional world engine, CHERY AWE, during the 2026 Chery Global Innovation Conference held on October 20. The engine comprises three sub-models: Goujing (scene construction), Guanyu (semantic reasoning), and Xingce (behavioral decision-making), addressing scenario understanding, semantic inference, and driving decisions respectively.
According to the company, the Goujing model has built over 700,000 driving scenarios, including 300,000 high-risk scenarios and 20,000 extreme scenarios. The model generates and simulates complex driving conditions to help the autonomous driving system learn how to handle long-tail events that rarely occur in reality but could lead to severe consequences. The Guanyu model is designed to interpret road signs, environmental semantics, and navigation intent, while Xingce turns understanding into action, shifting driving behavior from passive response to proactive risk prediction.
CHERY AWE is built on CheryMind, a vertical foundational large model for physical AI that Chery introduced earlier. CheryMind has been connected to more than 400 enterprise systems and 1,500 end-to-end business processes, covering over 200 business scenarios. Chery chairman Yin Tongyue said at the conference that Chery sees itself as a high-tech innovation company "wearing the guise of a carmaker." The company also outlined its "Yaoguang 2035" strategy, aiming to evolve from a traditional automaker into an AI-driven global intelligent technology company.
Chery also showcased a purpose-built Robotaxi developed for the global market and set a target of operating 100,000 Robotaxis globally by 2030.
