SpaceX Signs $40 Billion GPU Lease Deal With Apollo for Nvidia Vera Rubin

By AI123

SpaceX has signed a financing lease agreement with Apollo Global Management for graphics processing units and related data-center equipment, with total lease payments estimated at roughly $40 billion. The deal is intended to support SpaceX's compute expansion plan, which the company describes as a step toward a "superintelligent future."

The transaction involves Nvidia's next-generation data-center chip, Vera Rubin. Apollo will procure the equipment and lease it to SpaceX in batches, with each batch under a separate lease plan running approximately five to 5.25 years. The leases are expected to begin in the first half of 2027.

Goldman Sachs acted as exclusive structuring advisor, while funds and accounts managed by BlackRock, Goldman Sachs Asset Management and KKR participated as major committed investors. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.
