According to people familiar with the matter, Amazon is in talks to acquire AI startup Decart at a valuation of about $7 billion, and the deal could close soon if negotiations do not fall through. Decart was founded in 2023 by three Israeli engineers, and its software helps chips run more efficiently, reducing the cost of AI training and running. Earlier in September, Anthropic had been in talks to acquire Decart for about $6 billion and completed due diligence before eventually walking away.
