On October 12, Hangzhou High-tech Zone (Binjiang) held a media briefing, announcing that the third 2026 meeting of the ITU-T Focus Group on Embodied Intelligence Standards (October 13–16) and the first Global Embodied Intelligence Application Innovation Challenge and 2026 China Robot Competition finals (October 16–18) will be held concurrently in Binjiang. The former marks the international standards platform's first meeting outside Geneva in China, and is expected to approve two key technical specifications.
