Nebius Chief Revenue Officer Marc Boroditsky said the company is seeing compute price increases exceeding expectations, citing an Oct. 20 auction that showed prices per megawatt continuing to rise. He said Nebius differs from CoreWeave in that it does not carry the same scale of debt, and that 2027 compute capacity could sell out, with the 2028 demand outlook remaining strong.
Nebius security product lead Nir Chervoni discussed in an interview how enterprises can assess AI security, keep control over their workloads, and use emerging approaches such as confidential computing. An August survey cited in the interview found that half of respondents had agents in production, with 61% reporting shared-credential problems; September research showed only 14% could revoke an agent's access within minutes.
On September 23, cloud computing provider Nebius AI Cloud announced a dynamic bidding mechanism for its preemptible virtual machines (PVMs), which automatically adjusts GPU hourly rates based on real-time data center idle capacity and user demand. The configuration tools are now live, and the mechanism will take effect on October 8.
Rothschild & Co. Redburn initiated coverage of AI cloud infrastructure companies on Monday, giving sell ratings to CoreWeave and Nebius and arguing that new cloud providers' earnings and valuations are cyclically inflated. It also gave neutral ratings to six former bitcoin mining companies: Core Scientific, TeraWulf, Applied Digital, Cipher Mining, Hut 8 and IREN.
Nebius announced a roughly 20% average price increase for its GPU cloud services effective Oct 1, covering H100, H200, B200 and B300 models. It is the company's second price hike since May 2026. The market read the move as a sign of overheated AI compute demand and tight supply, sending Nebius shares up nearly 7% in after-hours trading and lifting Coreweave and optical networking stocks.
MiniMax has joined the Nebius AI Builder Program, an initiative offering models, infrastructure, tooling, credits, and office hours to support developers in building AI systems. Nebius announced the program is now open, with several prominent AI companies participating.
