Apple released the iOS/iPadOS 27.2 update on October 27, 2026, enhancing Siri AI with memory, personal context, and five new language options, alongside updates to Apple Music, Photos, FaceTime, and Home.
Apple confirmed that the original HomePod mini will not support Siri AI because its chip and memory configuration cannot provide the computing power needed to run local large language models; Siri AI is currently available on HomePod mini 2 and Apple TV 4K (second generation and later).
Apple unveiled the HomeView smart home hub at its “Welcome Home” event, priced at $299 and launching November 13, 2026. It has a 7-inch Liquid Retina touchscreen, Siri AI, and support for Matter and Thread, offered in a speaker-base version and a wall-mountable version. Apple also partnered with LG to release the Apple Home Collection of smart home devices co-designed by Apple.
Apple announced the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K with an A19 chip and Siri AI. Siri AI will be available as a beta on second-generation and newer Apple TV 4K models, and at official launch it will support English users in the United States, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.
Bloomberg reports that Apple plans to release several Siri AI-powered smart home devices on October 13, including a home hub codenamed J490, a new HomePod mini, and an updated Apple TV. The J490 features a roughly 6-inch square touchscreen, supports tabletop and wall mounting, controls HomeKit/Matter devices, and can recognize family members.
Apple has agreed to settle a March 2025 class-action lawsuit alleging false advertising over Siri AI. It denies wrongdoing and no liability has been found, but it has set up a $250 million settlement fund. Eligible buyers of iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 16 models can claim between $25 and $95 in compensation.
Apple has officially launched its Siri AI upgrade, bringing AI security camera features to HomeKit Secure Video-compatible devices such as the Aqara Camera Hub G350, including natural language search and descriptive notification summaries. The features are opt-in, and existing subscription prices remain unchanged.
